Dendrocygna bird
Iconographic Commentary & Symbolism
This is a study of a pink-headed whistling duck within the duck, goose and swan family. It is a special bird found across tropical and sub-tropical regions in America, Africa, Asia and Australia. The painting shows the bird from the side against a plain background. With its unusually long neck and feet, a graceful upright stance, and distinct plumage, the bird features browns, grays and bright pinks accented by bold patterns that are brought about using fine brushstrokes. They display the natural beauty of this rare bird.
